Changing
Is your organisation capable of more? People, process, and systems have the potential to create great organisations. But these elements must work together to create outstanding customer and employee experiences that drive business results.
IT Change
Technology in organisations involves a complex use of people, facilities, goals, and organisational conditions. In 2010 I researched this topic extensively under the supervision of Sydney University and created a model of technology use in organsiations. (You can request a copy of the white paper from my contact page). I have a library of research on the topic available. If your next change involves technology, Handspring Consulting has resources that can help. Or, read more about IT Change Management here.
Australian project managers, software develpers, and resellers – I also provide IT change management support to ensure your products take root in organisations and get used to their fullest potential. I work both independently and through sub-contracting arrangements.
Planning and Managing Change
A common problem in change projects is the spread of misinformation and negativity through unofficial communications channels. The best way to avoid the spread of misinformation is to communicate proactively. People want information. When there is an information gap, people fill it with their own thoughts and ideas, and that is how the misinformation grapevine starts. But, a well-planned change avoids the grapevine and the resulting unnecessary resistance and rumours. It engages people and strengthens your ability to make desired change. Before you execute your next change, make sure you have thought through your plans for involving people through training, goal alignment, people readiness, support, and communication.
Employee Coaching and Mentoring
Align the priorities of the management team, set meaningful goals, and engage employees. When supported by coaching and mentoring, your people will strengthen your organisation. Goal setting is just one of many ways that employee coaching programs can help you to develop, retain, and grow your best employees. This podcast of me on BTalk Australia has some examples of employee goal setting.
